Summary Profile

I was admitted in class VI in April 1958 when Public School was initially started. I studied in the school for over 3 years and left to join a boarding school Cadet College Petaro in class IX in Aug 1961 . It was Public School's excellent educational environment and sports & extra curriculum activities which helped me take a lead at the new Institution. In Petaro I excelled not only in studies but also in games. I was a position holder in Matric and Intermediate Examinations and captained College Basketball team and was awarded College colours in Rifle shooting and Basketball.

After Intermediate I joined NED Engineering College, Karachi but soon after the 1965 War I joined Pakistan Navy in Oct 65 in the Engg Branch. I graduated in Mech Engg and later did my specialization courses and post graduation in Marine Engg from Plymouth UK. I also did my National Defence Course in Islamabad before being promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral in 1997.

During my Naval career spanning over 37 years I served as the Commanding Officer of PNS Karsaz, Managing Director of PN Dockyard and Head of the Technical Services as Dy Chief of Naval Staff (M). I also served as Managing Director of Karachi Shipyard & Engg Works after retirement. I was awarded Sitara e Imtiaz (M) and Hilal e Imtiaz (M) by the President of Pakistan for my distinguished services.

Misc. Information

I am married to my cousin Shahnaz for over 35 yrs and presently enjoying a retired officer life in Karachi. I am blessed with two daughters and a son who are all married and living happily.

I am a proud Publican who plays golf and enjoys his six grandchildren, Masha Allah.
