Planning Meeting for Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Public School
A meeting to discuss the planning for the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Public School was held today. The following 3 emails were received from Javed Jabbar of the Class of 1961 which summarize the decisions reached in the meeting. The subject of the emails are as follows:

Dear fellow Publicans,
Assalam-o-alaikum & greetings.
We Publicans should set up a professional consultancy service on how to change dates frequently: the number of clients we could get is most uncertain but on the basis of our vast experience, we should give it a try.
At the general meeting held at the School earlier today on Saturday, 1st November 2008, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. attended by about 20 colleagues (minutes to be circulated by Atiq Rehman separately and later), it was diligently pointed out by Khawaja Fariduddin that when we had earlier shifted the original date from 21st December to 8th December, we had inadvertently miscalculated the occurrence of Eid-ul-Azha.
As per the latest sign from Chanda Mamoo up in the heavens, Eid is more or less guaranteed to be on 8th December 2008.
Therefore, with deep regrets at the inconvenience caused to all Publicans, in Pakistan and overseas, and with apologies from all of us guilty Publicans who have excelled in calculations it was decided that the new and hopefully final, repeat final date for the formal celebration of the 50th anniversary will be Friday, 5th December 2008 from about 7 p.m. (to whenever we want to go home), at the School premises in Karachi.
Details of the programme for 5th December will follow separately and shortly.
To respect our dear fellow Publicans overseas, specially those who are planning to meet in the USA on 21st December as also those who will be in Karachi around the same date, i.e. 21st December 2008, an attempt may be made to organize an informal get-together in Karachi on 21st December as well. No firm commitments: but more on this later.
For the present: the clock is ticking even louder now: each hour, each day counts. Each Publican who is already part of this network is requested to urgently repeat urgently contact other Publicans who are not yet aware of our plans and each Publican is requested to immediately confirm/purchase etc. invitations/seats etc. for 5th December, help mobilize advertising support for the special brochure being published to mark the occasion and make the advance booking with payment for the memento plaque to be distributed on that day.
